Mindomo is Web 2.0 application that supports many features. It enables users to organize, associate, solve problems, creative thought enhancement, and good communication, helps to focus, helps giving great presentations, see important issues, increase your productivity, and brainstorm for ideas. Even though the program allows the user to accomplish all of the above, some drawback can be noted.
Mindomo is an online web based mind mapping tool, which helps create a graphical mind map that can be shared with other users over the internet. Mindomo also offers software for the desktop that can be use in the absence of internet connection. Many other mind map program do not offer such a soft ware.
The application has an easy interactive interface that allows its user to quickly create his or her mind map using the tools it provides, i.e the pre-defined themes. These tools can be easy founded on both toolbars; the top and the left side one of the dashboard. In addition to, Mindomo allow the merge of notes and visual hints.
Furthermore, Mindomo uses a combination of feature that helps the users understand and visualize its work. These features help unblock one’s thinking and work him to build his mind map. The application makes use of, visual and audio supports, high density map, multi level numbering, comment and votes on topics, spell check, import of contacts, and export of maps. It also allows the use of synchronization option. In general, it focuses of the simple and fast uses of the tools. And that is what makes Mindomo unique.
Yet, some drawback can are noted. Mindomo does not support the sharing of its work with other mind map tools. For example, Mindomo does not support the deed of a user importing a mind map from another program and modify it using Mindomo application.
Another disadvantage to Mindomo is that a user has to become a paid subscriber in order to export a map in Midmanager format. As for importation, Mindomo can only import Mindmanger files.
In conclusion, “Mindomo respects your time, with a carefully selected feature set, platform flexibility, quick setup, and a short learning curve”. (Mindomo, n.d) However, Mindomo do not support maps that are created by similar programs. As it require a subscription fess for utilizing the Mindmanger format; which is an upgraded format then the Basic Mindomo application.
